2023 Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon, 93 points
Very much in the style of the vintage with its fresh, focused, yet still concentrated character, the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford offers pretty red and black fruits, medium body, and complex notes of spice and dried herbs with integrated oak and outstanding length. It’s still tight and a little closed, so hide bottles for 4-5 years if you can, and it should see its 20th birthday in fine form. Drink 2029-2044.
2023 Sonoma Coast Chardonnay, 94 points
The 2023 Chardonnay Sonoma Coast reveals gorgeous aromatics of crushed citrus, white flowers, blanched almonds, and hints of oyster shell. It’s medium-bodied and has a pure, focused mouthfeel with solid mid-palate depth and concentration, integrated acidity, and outstanding length. It’s an impressive effort that I love today, and it will drink beautifully over the coming 8-10 years. Drink 2025-2035.
2023 Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir, 91 points
From a site in the Sta. Rita Hills, the 2023 Pinot Noir Lindsay’s Vineyard offers subtle yet nuanced aromatics of savory red fruits, framboise, savory herbs, and dried flowers. It’s medium-bodied and supple, with moderate concentration and an elegant, charming profile that’s upfront and accessible. It should drink well over the coming 5-7 years. Drink 2025-2032.
