2023 Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon, 93+ points
Those with a passing knowledge of Napa Valley’s grape-growing history can probably deduce the origin of Oleandri’s 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford from the breadcrumbs left behind on the back label or the winery’s website. Scents of pencil shavings accent cherries and dusty earth on the nose, while the medium- to full-bodied palate is silky-smooth but also firm and structured, with plenty of dusty tannins evident on the lingering finish. Give it another five years or so to round into form, then drink it over the following decade or so.

2023 Sonoma Coast Chardonnay, 93 points
Produced from Dijon clones 95 and 76 grown at Rogers Creek Vineyard, Oleandri’s 2023 Chardonnay was entirely barrel fermented, then spent 10 months in French oak, where it underwent malolactic fermentation and regular bâtonnage. In spite of all those bells and whistles, it’s not at all oaky or leesy, instead remaining rather citrusy on the nose, with hints of pineapple and white peach lending a bit more richness. It’s medium-bodied, with a gentle, silky texture and ample length on the finish.

2023 Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir, 90 points
This Napa-based producer reached down to Santa Barbara to source its 2023 Pinot Noir Lindsay’s Vineyard, a light-hued blend of Pommard and Dijon clones matured almost a year in French oak. Pretty aromas of rose petals, tea leaves and wild strawberries appear on the nose, while the medium-bodied palate is expansive and silky. Even if it lacks a bit of mid-palate richness, it’s nicely airy in feel, turning silky on the delicate finish.
