2022 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir, 93 Points

Screen Shot at PM“From the Rodgers Creek Vineyard in the Sonoma Coast AVA, with 2% of grapes sourced from a site called Lindsay’s Vineyard. After a 4-day cold soak, 15% whole clusters were fermented over 10 days in open-top tanks, followed by malolactic in barrels and aged 11 months in new and neutral French oak. Utterly enticing with heady notes of Bing cherry, espresso bean, dried rose petals and sandalwood. Medium-bodied, ripe, juicy, layered with satiny dark berry fruits, blood orange acidity and velvet tannins. Cardamom, clove, and coriander all emerge on the refreshing finish. Founder Fred D’Amato works with winemaker Patrick Saboe, a veteran of Robert Sinskey Vineyards, Hanna Winery, and Keller Estate.” – Jonathan Cristaldi, Decanter
